Gemdrop® was founded by after a career devoted to understanding how Earth works, teaching undergraduates how minerals form, how crystals grow, and how minerals can be scientifically identified and verified in a lab setting.

During his academic graduate education at Cardiff, University of Wales and the University of Houston, a Carnegie R1 research university, Dr Barnard trained across mineralogy, optical mineralogy, crystallography, geochemistry, sedimentology, stratigraphy, igneous petrology and metamorphic petrology. Working alongside advanced analytical laboratories and scientific instrumentation provided a comprehensive understanding of crystal chemistry, mineral identification and the remarkable geological processes that create the Earth's minerals.

That scientific background revealed something remarkable.
